Schuster studied at the Academie of Fine Arts in Vienna. He received the Prix de Rome, an annual bursary for promising artists. With the Prix, he was able to study in Rome.
Schuster became very popular for his portraits of Viennese society and his contributions to the “Künstlerhaus.”
