1. La Liseuse (1922). Félix Vallotton (Swiss-born French, 1865-1925).

    As a painter, graphic designer, and writer, Vallotton became one of the most significant representatives of symbolism. Vallotton studied at the Académie Julian under Lefèvre and Gustave Boulanger. 

    Starting in 1885, he exhibited at the salon of the Société d’Art Français and became a member of the Salon d’Art Independent in 1891.
