Laage made her American film debut in B.F.’s Daughter (1948) with Barbara Stanwyck. Her breakthrough role was the prostitute Lizzie in La Putain Respectueuse/The Respectful Prostitute (1952), an adaptation of the play by Jean-Paul Sartre. Following were roles in films like Act of Love/Un acte d’amour (1953) opposite Kirk Douglas and The Happy Road (1957) starring Gene Kelly.
During the 1960’s she appeared in more mediocre international productions, including the erotic cult movie Therese and Isabelle (1968). During the 1970’s Laage appeared mainly on television.
